Davies Howe is looking to add a Municipal/Land Use Planning Associate to join its small yet highly regarded and dynamic firm in downtown Toronto.
As a member of the firm’s leading land development group, you will have an opportunity to advocate for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional property developers before municipal councils, the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Toronto Local Appeal Board and the courts. You will have the opportunity to have carriage of a significant number of files, as well as assist more senior partners with complex development files. Members of the team have expertise in all aspects of the land use and development process under the Planning Act and related legislation, including, but not limited to: Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments; Site Plan Approvals; Minor Variances and Consents; Plans of Subdivision; Development Charges and Expropriations.
The successful candidate will bring 4+ years of relevant land use and planning law experience, be highly motivated and comfortable taking initiative. Prior experience in public sector and planning law is ideal; no court litigation experience is necessary but experience before administrative tribunals is an asset.
The successful candidate will bring strong academic backgrounds and strong interpersonal skills with a desire to contribute and work collaboratively with a highly regarded legal team.
