SmartCentres is seeking to add a skilled and highly motivated Commercial Real Estate lawyer to join their team as Senior Counsel, Corporate Legal at their headquarters in Vaughan, Ontario. Reporting to the Vice President and Senior Counsel, Corporate, the successful candidate will advise on a range of sophisticated transactions, providing both technical and strategic support to the Executive Management Team on commercial, mixed-use, condo and multi-residential projects across the country. Responsibilities will include advising on acquisitions and dispositions, financings, development activities and joint ventures, as well as negotiating and drafting agreements associated with these transactions. Additionally, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to expand their expertise and advise on general corporate matters as they arise.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of transactional real estate experience gained from either a well-respected law firm or from an in-house setting. The individual who will thrive in this role is confident, eager to learn, technically strong and is someone who enjoys the pace and quality of work that a transactional environment offers.
