ACG is seeking an experienced corporate and/or privacy lawyer to join their team at their headquarters in Markham, Ontario. Reporting to the VP, Legal, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, the successful candidate will work closely with an incredible leadership team and provide strategic corporate and privacy advice across the company’s various business functions. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: advising on a broad range of commercial matters including marketing and strategic partnerships; advising on privacy compliance including updating and improving policies as well as developing guidelines and other tools to support accountability; advising on the negotiation and drafting of vendor, customer and third party contracts; identifying and advising on intellectual property and data privacy risks; and providing general legal and business risk analysis on a range of matters from new products to commercial agreements.

This role offers great opportunities for professional development with responsibility for 3-4 direct reports, significant interaction with the management team and a clear path for advancement within the organization. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a chance to work on challenging and novel legal issues in a fast-paced setting, but in an environment that offers a balanced and flexible work schedule. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of corporate commercial experience as well as exposure to privacy and intellectual property matters gained from reputable law firm, in-house organization or both. Experience in insurance, financial services or another highly regulated industry would be considered an asset.
