Vale’s law department is seeking a Corporate/Commercial Lawyer to join its team as Legal Counsel at their headquarters, located in downtown Toronto. In this role, you will provide guidance and strategic direction to global operations and corporate clients across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things, negotiating and drafting critical corporate and commercial contracts; advising on transactions; ensuring regulatory compliance; supporting the corporate secretarial and governance functions, complex litigation files and strategic projects in Canada, the United Kingdom and Asia-Pacific.

The successful candidate will have 4 to 7 years of post-call corporate/commercial experience gained from a top tier firm or in-house environment. Vale is seeking a lawyer with excellent communication skills and a practical approach to the practice of law. Superior business and legal acumen are vital, as is the confidence to work autonomously across multiple jurisdictions (and time zones). Willingness to travel is an asset.
