First Capital is seeking a Leasing Lawyer to join its talented team of professionals. This position will support First Capital’s Western operations and can be based out of their Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver offices.

Reporting to the Director of Legal, the successful candidate will negotiate, draft and review retail and office lease agreements as well as ancillary lease-related documentation, manage a team of law clerks and other leasing professionals, assist with the resolution of landlord/tenant disputes, advise on construction and development related matters, direct and manage external counsel and provide advice with respect to all other legal matters affecting First Capital’s business.

The ideal candidate will have 4 to 7 years of post-call commercial real estate experience focused on commercial leasing. First Capital is seeking a highly organized, judicious and results-oriented individual who is a self-starter. An understanding of how to balance risk with business objectives, as well as a team-first approach are essential to this role.
