First Capital Realty is seeking a Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its first class team of professionals at its downtown Toronto office located in Liberty Village. Reporting to the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, the successful candidate will take the lead with respect to the management and resolution of insured and uninsured claims across the country. Responsibilities will include advising on and overseeing the handling of litigation and disputes relating to property management, leasing, environmental and general commercial matters. In addition, this role will work
closely with senior management and business teams to proactively identify new and ongoing risks and educate internal stakeholders on best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of post-call commercial litigation experience gained from a leading law firm or major organization. First Capital Realty is seeking a creative, highly organized and results-oriented problem solver with an entrepreneurial attitude who can work efficiently in a high-performance environment. Strong relationship management skills and a collaborative approach are essential. This is an excellent and rare opportunity for a talented litigator to practice in an in-house setting with one of Canada’s leading real estate players. Prior experience in real estate is an asset but is not required.
