Gore Mutual Insurance (Gore) is seeking a talented lawyer to join their high caliber team as Senior Legal Counsel. Working from either their Toronto or Cambridge offices, with flexibility to work remotely, the Senior Legal Counsel will lead the legal strategy of the casualty claims practice, including managing the timely resolution of claims, providing legal advice to the various stakeholders and overseeing and developing a team of legal associates and clerks. Responsibilities will include: managing high volume commodity claims from initial assignment up to trial, settlement and mediation; establishing litigation strategies and budget; developing and delivering targeted training to the organization; building and managing the internal legal team and developing key performance indicators.

Gore is seeking an experienced and highly organized insurance litigation lawyer with strong leadership skills to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in insurance litigation from either a reputable law firm or in-house environment as well as substantial trial experience. With this new role, the company is seeking to add a strong advocate with the experience to judiciously manage claims with regard to the company’s bottom line, as well as maintaining their continued reputation for excellence.
