Mattamy Homes Canada (MHC) is seeking an experienced Real Estate Lawyer to join their leadership team as VP, General Counsel. Reporting to the CEO of MHC and working closely with the Division Presidents, this person will lead strategic initiatives relating to the company’s residential development projects across Canada. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: negotiating and drafting a wide range of legal agreements including those relating to acquisitions and dispositions of real estate, joint ventures and partnerships, licensing and other transactional agreements; advising on compliance and risk management; leading the continuous improvement of company policies and procedures; advising on IP matters; managing litigation and providing direction to external counsel.

The ideal candidate will have 10 + years of post-call real estate experience gained from a reputable law firm or major real estate player. Experience in the residential home building sector and with condominium and construction law are highly desirable. MHC is seeking a seasoned professional to become a key member of the MHC Senior Leadership team. The successful candidate will provide confident and effective counsel and deliver practical and actionable legal advice to a range of business and cross functional stakeholders.
