OPTrust is currently looking for an exceptional Transactional Lawyer to join their Legal Services team in its head office in Toronto – flexible, hybrid work structure in place. In this highly collaborative role, you will be working closely with the investment teams, across all jurisdictions, to provide pro-active solution-based legal and risk management advice in support of their global investment mandate, including private equity and infrastructure, real estate, private funds, capital markets and fixed income investments. In addition, you will work directly with internal Tax, Compliance, Investment Finance, Communications and other teams to provide legal, business and investment solutions; provide corporate governance and regulatory advice; and plan, supervise and execute on a variety of complex legal initiatives and innovative projects.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of post-call experience in private equity, M&A, securities and/or corporate finance gained from a reputable law firm and/or in-house environment. Other business law related skills will be considered an asset. You should have a track record of working collaboratively with many different stakeholders and the ability to take initiative, multi-task and project manage.
