SLF’s high caliber legal team is seeking a Corporate/Securities Lawyer to join them asAssistant Vice President & Senior Counsel at their global headquarters in downtown Toronto. Reporting to the Vice President and Associate General Counsel, this role will work closely with the senior management team, providing strategic advice on Canadian and international transactions as well as securities, regulatory and governance matters. The successful candidate will support SLF’s various business lines including the Finance and Corporate Development groups, as well as projects with SLF’s international business operations. Responsibilities will include M&A, investments, securities and other corporate transactions as well as advising on enterprise public disclosure, securities regulation and corporate governance matters.

The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of corporate/transactional experience, preferably gained at a leading law firm or a publicly traded company. SLF is seeking a self-starter who has strong business acumen and the ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects, as well as the confidence to work with and influence key stakeholders.
