theScore is seeking an experienced in-house professional to join its leadership team as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at its headquarters in downtown Toronto. Reporting to the Chairman and CEO, this position is responsible for all legal, regulatory, risk and compliance activities for the Company, with a particular emphasis on theScore’s emerging, regulated online gaming operations.

The successful candidate will:

• advise on a broad spectrum of legal and regulatory matters, including supporting the executive team and the Board of Directors with regards to legal affairs, risk management, compliance and corporate governance matters;
• develop, administer and oversee all aspects of theScore’s regulatory and anti-money laundering compliance programs, policies and procedures;
• oversee government relations activities, including developing and maintaining relationships with legislators and gaming regulators, and managing regulatory licensing and reporting requirements.

theScore is seeking a unique individual who is both meticulous and pragmatic in their approach to navigating a highly regulated and evolving industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have 15-20 years of relevant legal and compliance experience, with exposure to regulated gaming being considered an asset.
